How we work
3hv is owned and run by Rahoul Baruah, a programmer by profession. As needed, we involve trusted designers, coders and SEOs (search engine optimisers); all project managed by us.
Designs
You may already have a design, but if not we are happy to help. The questions you need to ask, before embarking on a design project:
- Who is this aimed at?
- What feel would you like the design to have?
- What is the aim of each page?
Once we have this information we can then start planning the design. This normally takes a few stages - firstly we build “wireframes” - sketches of the design that show the major areas and their positioning and placement. Given a layout we then add the graphics and colours - this is when things start to come to life.
A high quality design costs between £500 - £1000 depending upon how many different layouts that you need. You can be sure that our team will create something to help your site achieve its goals.
Web sites and online stores
The questions you need to ask, before embarking on a web-site project:
- How is the site structured?
- What are you trying to say?
- How is the information made available?
- How will the site be updated?
Once we have this information we can start planning the site. The key details here are the site plan; how the visitor navigates through the site and how the URLs are organised (which can play a helpful role in Search Engine Optimisation).
Given a site plan and a design, we can then set up a “staging” site. This is a site that we build in conjunction with you, so that you can see the progress as it happens. The tools we use to build the sites allow you to update the content (whether that is individual web-pages for web-sites or product listing for stores) yourself; so once you are comfortable with the staging site, we can transfer things to the “live” server. You need a domain name, which we then point at the server, and then your new site is live!
Depending upon your needs it costs from £500 to build a site. Once built, we can offer managed hosting (with monitoring and backups) for £20/month on a scalable platform that offers room to grow.
Web applications
The questions you need to ask, before embarking on a web application project:
- What problems are you trying to solve?
- Who will it be used by?
- What will the usage patterns be?
- How will you measure project success?
